Tuesday nights in the popular Starlight club on the outskirts of town, and at the height of their popularity in the early 1990s, they would sometimes hit the road for a gig in Wilmington, Morehead City, or Myrtle Beach.
But as they all approached the age of 50, they began to slow down.
Nowadays, The Cedar Creek Boys only play for the occasional Rotary Club barbecue or a bikini contest out on the beach. And they'll still play a Tuesday night in the Starlight every now and then.
So after all these years, it's nice to finally have a recorded representation of The Cedar Creek Boys, even if it's only 10 songs. Now everyone can hear the music that's become legendary around Lonesome Pines.
The Cedar Creek Boys might not have straddled that fence between Little Feat and The Louvin Brothers like they wanted to, but at least they didn't fall completely on one side or the other.
